I drove this rocky gray 2007 Mazda for years.
The first couple of years were fine, but then people started telling me I should replace it. Some even said that clients would probably prefer a nicer car in their driveway when I arrived for meetings or training.
I never felt the need.
The business was doing well, it wasn’t about the money – it was about priorities.
And maybe that’s the point: if someone cares more about what I drive than what I deliver, they’re probably not the kind of business I should be working with anyway.
*For added context, unlike in the US or Europe, cars in Mauritius are extremely expensive.
**And for the record, I don’t care whatsoever what others choose to drive – it’s purely a personal choice.
