The story about Stories

“Stories” on social media platforms may appear to be an obvious concept, yet its inception was far from straightforward when it was initially introduced by Snapchat.

Contrary to popular belief that Stories first appeared on Instagram, it was actually the brainchild of Snapchat’s founders—Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown. They innovatively predicted that young users would embrace the notion of temporary content on their profiles, an idea that at the time seemed quite audacious.

Their prediction turned out to be accurate, leading to a surge in Snapchat’s popularity. In response, Facebook made an attempt to acquire Snapchat. However, after the offer was declined by Snapchat’s founders, Meta (formerly known as Facebook) rolled out the Stories feature across its platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger.

Today, Instagram Stories has a larger user base than Snapchat.

The story of “Stories”, temporary content on social media, may seem obvious now but was not at all obvious when it first appeared on a platform other than Instagram, that is, Snapchat. #snapchat #storiesInstagram #instagramstories #digitalmarketing #chenhindi
