That’s not me failing to do basic mathematics. That’s the result of a business decision to hire people with specific skills and help them develop in other avenues. No – they’re not “Jacks of all trades, masters of none”, they’re rather motivated people who were given the chance to explore and to shine, in a world which is constantly changing and – anyway – doesn’t leave them any other choice. You have people who are willing to push outside of their comfort zone, who are not scared to try new things and who want to improve themselves – I think that’s a win-win. I feel that not enough leaders are open to the idea – maybe that’s a remain from the “old” world where people went to school and did the same job for 40-50 years until retirement. That’s a shame because they’re missing out – both on the people of the new world and for the future of their business.
