We are currently a team of 11 people that includes 4 graphic designers, 5 community and campaign managers, 2 production coordinators, 1 web developer, 3 copywriters and 2 managers. Wait, that’s 17 or 11? That’s not me failing to do basic mathematics. That’s the result of a business decision to hire people with specific skills and help them develop in other avenues. No – they’re not “Jacks of all trades, masters of none”, they’re rather motivated people who were given the chance to explore and to shine, in a world which is constantly changing and – anyway – doesn’t leave them any other choice. From a business owner’s perspective? You have people who are willing to push outside of their comfort zone, who are not scared to try new things and who want to improve themselves – I think that’s a win-win. I feel that not enough leaders are open to the idea – maybe that’s a remain from the “old” world where people went to school and did the same job for 40-50 years until retirement. That’s a shame because they’re missing out – both on the people of the new world and for the future of their business.
