The best thing you can do when starting a new position?
Observe.
I get it – there’s a strong urge to impress, contribute ideas, and make improvements right away. But more often than not, jumping in too quickly means missing valuable context.
The truth is, some ideas that seem brilliant now might feel completely off the mark after a few months in the role.
My advice?
Take notes. Reflect on your observations. Let your ideas mature. The right moment to share them will come (and fresh perspectives are incredibly valuable in business). And when it does, you’ll bring your insights to the table with a much better chance of making a real impact.
