When it’s hard, I find there are three things that really help me.
The first one is running.
I can’t stress enough how much working out improves your mood.
It’s the cheapest, quickest and healthiest way to instantly feel better.
Find your workout; believe me when I say – it will be a lifesaver when the waves come.
The second thing is work.
Yes, I know that for some of you, it might come as a surprise but –
I genuinely love what I do.
It’s not perfect every day. And some weeks are mentally really challenging.
But as Steve Jobs said “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”
The third thing will most definitely not come as a surprise and, it’s spending time with people I love and get inspired by.
Meaningful relationships are not something you can postpone for “later, when you have time”.
This will single-handedly recharge your battery and help you weather any storm.
In the photo: the first thing I do whenever I arrive at a new place is go out for a run. This is Victoria Park in London.
